JustFog C601: Properties & first impressions

Introduction

Justfog is relatively new to the pod vape game, they are based in South Korea and recently had a big hit with the minifit, they have just developed a new device called the C601 with a slightly larger form factor and a smooth rubber coating similar to the candypens Feather.

The C601 is an MTL pod mod and is unique in that it has an integrated clip function that allows it to be worn on clothing or attached to a chain, and is powered by 1.7 mL cartridges that are fed by a 650 mAh battery.

first we need to discuss the clip! it feels like it takes a lot of force to break it off. another bonus of the built-in clip is that it protects the mouthpiece when it's not in use, but it can take some getting used to. to get to the mouthpiece, you have to move the clip up, down and to the side. but since the clip is not removable and shorter, it doesn't turn completely around the battery. when used, the clip protrudes diagonally down from the battery. at first it feels a bit strange to hold it, but soon it becomes normal.

JustFog calls this device "sporty".

i think it's because of the rubberized coating and the clip. it's easy to hold and easy to track. you don't even need pockets to carry it. the clicking power button is integrated into the clip, which is a unique design variation. it's so subtle that i actually missed it at first - i thought it was just a piece connecting the rotating clip to the battery case. after reading the instructions, i realized it was a fire button and clicked it four times to turn it on. (not five times.)

filling the pod requires a bottle with a fine tip, otherwise it gets a little messy. it uses a similar filling system to the minifit and is designed to use high strength nickel salts. i gave the cartridge a few minutes to sit down and then i got to work. it took a few pulls to get rid of the cotton taste, but that's pretty normal. once the cartridge had broken in, it was nothing but taste with NKD 100 lava flow.

The 650 mAh battery of the C601 is almost twice the capacity of the Minifit.

There is an LED on the power button that serves as a battery life indicator, white when the battery is fully charged, blue when it is at 70-30% and red when it is below 30%. The 1.6 ohm coils do not require much power - the C601 only emits 3.5 V for a steady pull throughout its life.

i was very impressed with the battery life i was able to get out of the C601. the battery lasted for days before it needed recharging! as for the longevity of the coils, i got about 5 or 6 refills before the performance dropped off. i had a few bad hits, but by then it was perfect. it still works, just not as well as the first 10 ml or so.

i'm glad justfog gave me the chance to try this new device. i have to admit, i taped it to my pocket. it's a simple feature, but it's pretty useful. besides that, the mtl train is nice, and the taste and throat strike are remarkable. the extended battery life makes it so much more of a go-to device. i wish the coils in the pods would last a little longer, but that's the case with most refillable pod systems out there. have you tried the graphfog? what do you think? let us know in the comment feature.
