The most important one: Is the e cigarette not as harmful for your health as the conventional cigarette I smoke at the moment? The reports in the media don't always agree, so we turn to science in this blog.

E cigarette up to 95% less harmful

As early as 2015, the UK Health Service published a report from a major study which found that smoking E cigarettes was 95% less harmful than smoking traditional cigarettes, and found that almost half the population (44.8 percent to be exact) did not realise that E cigarettes were much less harmful than normal cigarettes, so much could be gained in this area.

The study, conducted by Professors Ann McNeill and Peter Hajek, gives indications that the E cigarette also contributes to the fact that the group of normal smokers is becoming smaller and smaller, which is a good development, considering the first conclusion mentioned above. The study also removes the concern that smoking E cigarettes makes it easier for children and non-smokers themselves to start smoking, as this thesis has proved to be unfounded.

Latest Evidence For A Less Harmful E Cigarette

In March of this year, the University College of London again published a hopeful study on behalf of the British Cancer Institute. The new conclusion was: Smoking E cigarettes is much less harmful than smoking conventional cigarettes - even for a longer period of time. These findings were reached by testing urine and saliva for 6 months from people in three main groups (smokers, E cigarette smokers and users of nicotine patches or nicotine chewing gum).

The presence and concentration of nicotine and 26 other harmful substances in the urine and saliva was examined. Only the harmful substance NNAL was found in the urine of E cigarette users, in a concentration 97.5% lower than that of normal tobacco smokers. The other substances were found in the same concentrations as measured in users of nicotine substitutes.

E Cigarette no more harmful than nicotine substitute

This is good news, because studies after nicotine substitution in the last 30 years have shown that the substances in such concentrations hardly pose a risk in the long term. So also asserted Cancer Research UKWe have to state that E cigarettes have the same influence on the body as recognized means used to stop smoking. The E cigarette can therefore be considered relatively risk-free."

In other words, it's definitely worth it from the conventional cigarette to switch to the E cigaretteif your health is important to you.

Who wants to make a switch from the conventional cigarette to the e-cigarette, often has a variety of serious questions.
